Great Albums of 2007 (so far)
Now it is time that you listen to these albums. Enjoy.
Great Albums of 2007, so far
- Caribou, Andorra: If the Beach Boys were just a little weirder and more psychedelic.
- Justice, Cross: Dark, 80's-ish, European-style dance (but don't let that turn you off!).
- M.I.A., Kala: Still crazy creative reggaeton + Bollywood music + hip hop + I don't know what with angry political lyrics. Also there's a disco single.
- Of Montreal, Hissing Fauna, Are You the Destroyer?: So far, I think, the best of the year. Of Montreal's sunny demeanor is first darkened, then glammed up. Genius concept album.
- !!!, Myth Takes: Dancey, fun, oh-so-indie.
- Beirut, Lon Gisland EP: Weird, kaleidescopic, Eastern-European-inspired pop with a lovely, timorous voice.
- King Khan and the Shrines, What Is?!: Rock in the classic 60's style.
- LCD Soundsystem, Sound of Silver: Oh-so-indie, as well, for sitting in a trendy but not too trendy bar in the Village. Like: the ironic lyrics. Could do without: the parts that sound like Bruce Springsteen.
- Patrick Wolf, The Magic Position: Deep, dark voice that sounds like it's out of the 18th century. Good for listening to while playing an undead character in World of Warcraft :)
